Sagar Ahuja Is Bringing Global Standards to India’s Visual Storytelling Industry with Dune Creative

Sagar Ahuja is the Founder and Creative Director of Dune Creative, a visual storytelling studio bringing together photography, creative direction, and brand narratives.

With 15 years of expertise in the industry, Sagar began his journey at 18 and has since worked across advertising, fashion, luxury retail, interiors, and editorial, helping brands communicate through strong visual storytelling.

Founded in 2022, Dune Creative has completed four years of creating campaigns that combine strategic thinking with compelling visual narratives.

The Beginning

Sagar was drawn to photography simply because of its power to evoke emotion, shape perception, and tell a story through just one image. While pursuing his Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communication, he realised that his true passion lay behind the camera. He entered the industry at the age of 18 and built his solid foundation through every project and challenge along the way. Reflecting on his journey, he says,

“As my experience grew, so did my understanding of brands and visual communication. Starting Dune Creative was a natural progression, allowing me to offer not just photography, but complete creative direction rooted in storytelling.”

The Creative DNA

Dune Creative differentiates itself through its storytelling-led approach to visual communication. Every campaign begins with a clear narrative in mind, and every creative move, from lighting and composition to styling and execution, is built upon that story.

Sagar explains,

“Lighting is one of my strongest creative tools. Rather than following a fixed approach, every lighting setup is carefully designed to match the mood and emotion of the campaign. Whether it’s a fashion editorial, an advertising campaign, or an interior space, my focus is on creating visuals that feel intentional, immersive, and emotionally connected. That attention to detail in both storytelling and execution is what truly sets my work apart.”

Breaking Through

One of Sagar’s biggest challenges has been staying true to himself in a creative industry that is constantly evolving. He has had to continuously challenge his work to meet international standards while adjusting to different creative and commercial environments.

Looking back at the initial challenges, he shares,

“I’ve overcome that by never becoming comfortable. Every project is an opportunity to learn, refine my craft, and bring a higher level of creativity to the next one. Consistency, discipline, and a willingness to evolve have been the driving forces behind my journey.”

The Milestones

“Success isn’t measured by the number of campaigns I shoot. It’s measured by the trust my clients place in me and whether the final outcome exceeds their expectations.”

Sagar reveals that he has worked on advertising campaigns for brands including Whirlpool, Dabur India, Philips, and Hero MotoCorp, along with luxury interior projects for global names such as Zegna, Bally, Christian Louboutin, Ralph Lauren, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, and Tiffany & Co.

His fashion portfolio includes collaborations with H&M India, Reliance Trends, Shantnu & Nikhil, Siddartha Tytler, Supria Munjal, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, Shivan & Narresh, Max Fashion, and Amit Aggarwal. He has also photographed personalities including Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan, Sonam Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, and Radhika Apte, and has worked on cover stories for The Voice of Fashion.

A Global Vision

Sagar is looking forward to bringing international creative standards to Indian campaigns while expanding his work with global brands. He wants to continue creating meaningful campaigns for Indian businesses while partnering up with more international brands and bringing a global perspective to visual storytelling.

On a more personal note, he adds,

“Travelling has always been one of my biggest sources of inspiration. Every destination, culture, and experience shapes the way I approach storytelling. My goal is to keep translating those global influences into campaigns that feel fresh, cinematic, and internationally relevant while remaining authentic to the brands I work with.”

The Mindset Behind

Sagar has come to understand that patience is just as necessary as talent. He asserts that success is rarely achieved overnight and that consistently showing up, improving, and trusting the process will eventually lead to results.

His advice to aspiring entrepreneurs and creatives is,

“Stay hungry, stay curious, and never stop improving. Show up every single day, even when no one is watching. Aim to become a better version of yourself each year, dream bigger than you’re comfortable with, and always honour the trust your clients place in you. At the end of the day, your reputation is built not just on your work, but on the responsibility you take for delivering it.”
