Deepika Padukone Invests in Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters Amid Ongoing Series B Round

Recently, Deepika Padukone made an undisclosed investment in one of our beloved coffee chains, Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters. The investment has been made by Ka Enterprises, Deepika’s investment firm. This is part of Blue Tokai’s ongoing Series B funding round.

Apart from Ka Enterprises, the other investors who are backing Blue Tokai, are A91 Partners, Anicut Capital, 8i Ventures, DSP Blackrock, Negen Capital, Mauryan Capital, and White Whale Ventures.

Back in January this year, Blue Tokai, in its Series B round, secured almost $30 million. On top of that, they also got INR 17 crore from the Anicut Angel Fund in August 2022. In 2020, they secured around INR 40 crore from early-stage funds and angel investors.

Deepika Padukone is excited about the partnership and stated,

“We have followed the brand’s growth very closely over the past decade and observed their vision and commitment to quality and innovation and are therefore thrilled to partner with them on their journey of making Indian specialty coffee accessible, delivering unparalleled coffee experiences and putting it on the global map.”

In terms of how they will be utilizing the funding, Blue Tokai announced that they will be focusing more on expansion globally in the sector of specialty coffee. To achieve this, they are constantly on the move, coming up with an array of new fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) products.
