“I broke through the glass ceiling. Now I’m building ladders so other women don’t have to climb as hard as I did.”
In a conference room in Mumbai, a potential client looks across the table at Kritika Yadav and asks, “Can I speak with the senior financial advisor?”
Kritika smiles. She has heard this before.
“I am the senior financial advisor. I’m also the Director, Principal Officer, and the only CFP® in Chhattisgarh.”
That day, the client’s expression shifted from skepticism to surprise to respect. Within an hour, he signed up for comprehensive financial planning. Six months later, he referred five friends, all requesting Kritika specifically.
This scene, once common in Kritika’s early career, now rarely happens. Today, as one of only 2,000 CFP® (Certified Financial Planners) in India and Chhattisgarh’s sole certified professional, Kritika Yadav has become synonymous with excellence in financial planning, especially for women investors who’ve long been excluded from India’s investment ecosystem.
With more than 1 million followers across social media, 5,000+ active client relationships, and over 1,000 financial plans created, Kritika has built a strong presence in financial education and planning. As a SEBI-registered Principal Officer and Co-Director of Market Maestroo Private Limited, she is part of a new generation of women leaders reshaping India’s financial services industry.
A PIONEER FROM BHILAI
Bhilai is not typically associated with financial planning or wealth management. Known primarily as an industrial and steel-town city, it sits far from India’s major financial centers. Kritika recalls,
“When I decided to pursue CFP® certification, people asked why. Financial planning wasn’t even a recognized profession in tier-2 cities. Women in finance were rare. Women financial planners from small towns? Virtually non-existent.”
But Kritika saw opportunity where others saw obstacles. She explains,
“Seventy percent of Indian families make financial decisions without professional guidance, and women who manage household budgets, children’s education, and elderly care are completely excluded from investment planning. This gap represented both a market opportunity and a social mission.”
EARNING THE GOLD STANDARD: CFP® USA
The CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation is widely regarded as the global benchmark in financial planning that involves extensive training and examinations across key areas including investments, insurance, tax, retirement, and estate planning, along with strict ethical and professional standards. She reflects,
“Being the only CFP® in my state is a responsibility. Every client I serve, every investor I educate, I’m representing what professional financial planning can achieve. I’m proving women can lead this profession.”
BUILDING A PRACTICE THAT EMPOWERS WOMEN
Kritika’s vision was to make comprehensive financial planning accessible to middle-class Indian families, especially women who’d been told investing was “too complicated” or “not for you.”
“I’d meet homemakers managing ₹50,000 monthly household budgets flawlessly, tracking every expense, optimizing groceries, and planning children’s activities. These same women would say they ‘don’t understand finance.’ It was absurd. They understood budgeting, cash flow, priority management, and the foundations of financial planning. They just needed someone to translate investment jargon into practical guidance.”
Kritika built a client-focused financial planning practice centered on long-term financial health rather than product sales. Her work includes cash flow management, budgeting, emergency funds, debt reduction, education planning, retirement planning, tax optimization, insurance review, and estate planning.
She also follows a women-first approach to finance, helping women overcome barriers to investing and financial decision-making. Her work focuses on simplifying financial concepts, improving financial confidence, addressing cultural biases around women and money, and making financial education more accessible for women with limited time.
THE SOCIAL MEDIA PHENOMENON
Starting with Instagram and later expanding to YouTube, Telegram, and other platforms, Kritika created financial content focused on women investors.
She simplified financial planning in Hindi and English, explained investment options without jargon, shared practical wealth-building examples, discussed tax-saving strategies, covered retirement planning, and encouraged women to take part in financial decisions within their families.
SEBI REGISTRATION
In August 2025, Kritika and her Director achieved a milestone few influencers pursue: SEBI registration as Research Analysts (INH000021757), with Kritika serving as Principal Officer.
“We could have continued as influencers without regulation,” she acknowledges. “But when millions trust your guidance, you owe them accountability. SEBI registration ensures every recommendation meets institutional standards, every disclosure is transparent, and every conflict of interest is managed.”
THE VISION AHEAD
Kritika’s goals extend beyond building her own business. By 2028, she aims to train and certify more than 100 women financial planners across India and expand her firm to over 50,000 financial planning clients.
Her long-term plans include developing AI-powered financial planning tools, creating financial literacy programs for schools with a focus on teaching young girls money management, and building Market Maestroo into one of India’s leading women-led financial services firms.
She declares,
“My ultimate goal? That every Indian woman, regardless of education, income, or location, has access to professional financial planning. That ‘women’s finance’ isn’t a niche, it’s normalized. That young girls grow up knowing they can be CFPs, research analysts, wealth managers, fund managers, anything.”
