Saurav Bhaik and his entrepreneurial journey with Tagbin: Pushing Boundaries with Innovation!

“I am an IIT Roorkee alumni known for my groundbreaking ideas and passion for creating world-changing, high-impact projects. As someone hailing from the mighty Himalayas, I take immense pride in being a part of the 5000-year-old Indian culture and civilization.”

This introduction by far falls short of describing Saurav Bhaik and all that he has achieved in his journey. So why don’t we take a closer look at his entrepreneurial journey? The team at Entrepreneurs Today got in touch with him, and here is a little something about what he shared with the team.

The visionary behind Tagbin

Saurav Bhaik, an IIT Roorkee alumnus recognized for his creative ideas and passion for producing high-impact initiatives, founded Tagbin, a knowledge-driven tech-experiential company. What’s special about them is that the company aims to produce one-of-a-kind and unforgettable experiences by fusing innovation, research and technology.

As Saurav walks us through the nitty-gritty of the company, he proudly talks about his team of passionate thinkers, who, just like Saurav, are committed to leaving a trail of positive impact on the world. With such a team at the forefront, it’s no wonder the company has established itself as a leader in diverse fields such as Spatial Transformation, Experiential Innovation and Tech-driven Outreach over the last ten years.

Needless to say, Tagbin is making significant strides in the domain of artificial intelligence (AI). Saurav further explains,

“We are constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and striving for excellence in everything we do. We are making breakthroughs in the world of AI, walking at par with current technologies.”

What led to the inception of Tagbin?

During his internship at Familykart, a grocery business, Saurav gained experience in a variety of fields, including product development, marketing, delivery, and store management. He liked the fast-paced, constantly-changing nature of the work, despite the chaotic setting. He learned that working with disruptive technology that would disrupt the market was his true calling.

With this passion, Saurav made the decision to explore the realm of experiential technology, which at the time of his idea was still relatively new and included augmented and virtual reality. After graduating in 2013, he launched Tagbin and entered the field of experiential technology. In their debut project, they worked with Oreo at Mood Indigo, a cultural festival held at IIT Bombay to improve the festival experience and foster an interactive environment for participants.

Let’s hear from Saurav Bhaik about the journey,

“Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with big brands such as Ray-Ban and Levi’s, creating innovative projects that have brought them closer to their customers. As a bootstrapped company, we faced our fair share of challenges, but we were determined to establish our niche and make our mark. Today, we work with a diverse range of clients, from private companies to government ministries, and we’re excited to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with newer technologies.”

What sets Tagbin apart in the industry?

When it comes to creating immersive experiences, Tagbin stands out in the market by utilising a special blend of analytical and creative methods. The business uses the practice of neuroscience mapping to comprehend human behaviour and preferences and then uses these understandings to direct its creative process. This strategy enables Tagbin to create visually appealing experiences that are also very successful at fulfilling the objectives of the clients.

What were the challenges they faced?

Building Tagbin presented Saurav and his team with several difficulties. Their projects’ research and development-based nature, which required a major time, effort, and resource commitment, was one of the biggest hurdles. However, they were able to overcome this obstacle by making sound decisions and maximizing their budget, given their bootstrapped business status.

Putting together and retaining a talented team was yet another difficult task. Each member had a crucial role to play, so they wanted to make sure that everyone understood their vision and had a love for what they did. They concentrated on people management, giving their team members more autonomy, and fostering an ownership culture ensuring that every team member understood the company’s vision and had a passion for their work. Saurav says,

“Despite being a product-centric venture, Tagbin faced financial constraints due to their significant investment in development. To overcome this hurdle, we had to pivot our business model to include more service-based offerings which opened a new gate of opportunities for us.”

Saurav understands the importance of keeping up with the latest trends and advancements in the corporate world. He makes it a point to continuously learn and explore in order to identify upcoming innovations and leverage them to benefit Tagbin.

So, what holds in the future for Tagbin?

It is worth noting that Tagbin has a highly skilled and dedicated team that is essential to the company’s success. In order to develop immersive and captivating experiences that represent India’s rich history and culture, Tagbin wishes to keep putting a strong emphasis on technology, which aligns with the team’s vision as well. In order to accomplish their objectives, they intend to keep pushing the limits of design, technology, operations, project management, research, and content. This entails making investments in the creation of fresh technology, growing their group of subject matter experts, and working on initiatives that highlight India’s variety and rich cultural past.

Some of Saurav’s major life lessons

“My entrepreneurial journey so far has been full of hits and misses, which I feel is a given when you choose the road less taken!”

Saurav has learned that it’s crucial to follow your passion. When you pursue your passion, you want to give it everything you have—time, money and energy. The value of assembling a fantastic team with the same vision and enthusiasm as the company was another crucial lesson gained along the process.

Lastly, we must all be wondering how Saurav Bhaik balances everything in life.

According to him, success in life is ultimately determined by striking a balance among the four pillars of work, family, friends, and health. He meticulously manages his liabilities and orders his commitments in order to do this, making sure that both his personal and professional lives are effectively controlled. Even though it can be difficult to find time for everything, he makes sure to honour his personal obligations and find time for his loved ones.

A note to budding entrepreneurs from the visionary himself:

“To all the budding and young entrepreneurs out there, I would like to say: Don’t be afraid to take risks and pursue your dreams. But always be prepared to put in the hard work, as success never comes overnight. Learn to adapt to the changing business environment, and don’t hesitate to seek guidance and support from experienced mentors. Lastly, always be open to learning and improving yourself and your business. Keep working on your dreams until you transform them into reality. And at the same time, keep evolving your plans because the best ones are the ones that evolve with time.”
