According to many reports released today, Accenture made an undisclosed investment in Writer on September 19th. Writer is a platform that helps businesses develop content with the help of AI. The US-based has not made any public statements about the investment.
Baiju Shah, the chief strategy officer of Accenture, commented on the recent development and said that the strategic move will revolutionize the way clients generate content today, no matter which sector they belong to. He explains, “create, personalise, and distribute content at pace, but also safely, securely, and with brand integrity.” Baiju Shah further revealed,
“We’ve entered a new era of tech-powered creativity and believe Writer’s enterprise-ready platform is a strong addition to Accenture’s comprehensive set of generative AI capabilities, tools and expertise, helping our clients capitalize on a wide range of uses across marketing and sales.”
Speaking on the matter, Accenture shared that they have been using Writer since 2021. However, they would now like to expand their services by providing clients with the same services. With the investment, they are on the move to make it happen.
According to Accenture Research, Writer’s use of Large Language Models (LLMs), a class of AI model, may affect up to 40% of all working hours. Furthermore, 98% of worldwide executives concur that over the next three to five years, AI foundation models will be a key component of their firms’ strategies. To assist clients across all industries progress and responsibly employ AI for growth, efficiency, and resilience, Accenture said in June 2023 that it will invest $3 billion into its Data & AI practice. The CEO and co-founder of Writer, May Habib, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Accenture.
Habib, CEO and co-founder of Writer said,
“It’s pretty simple. Enterprises want impactful and secure generative AI applications, they want them integrated into their tools and workflows, and they want it soon. Writer is the only full-stack generative AI platform, and that is why our customers’ generative AI use cases actually make it to production.“ He explained,
“Joining Accenture’s ‘Project Spotlight’ program will enable Writer to benefit from Accenture’s expertise from decades of deploying AI across industries and functions, and help us grow by driving broader awareness of our capabilities.”
Speaking on the matter, Jill Kramer, chief marketing and communications officer of Accenture said, “Generative AI tools like Writer can drive greater creativity.” He further added,
“As we continue to expand the use of AI across our global marketing and communications function, the opportunities to enhance content creation, productivity and our entire marketing model are boundless.”
