They Didn’t Wait for Permission: The Gada Sisters Redefining India’s Luxury Beauty Landscape

Founded at 16 and 19, Majagaa Beauty is a rare story of science, courage, and a new generation of Indian entrepreneurs building global brands with conviction.

“Ordinary paths are crowded. Legacy is built by those bold enough to resist the flow.”

When most wait for permission, the Gada sisters built a legacy. At 16 and 19, they launched Majagaa Beauty Pvt Ltd, a premium skincare, haircare, cosmetics, and fragrance brand where medical science meets luxury aesthetics.

Founded by Adv. Manasi Gada, an advocate by profession, and co-founded by Dr. Jayniee Gada, a dermatologist in the making, Majagaa was built on proprietary formulations, in-house manufacturing, and a bold entrepreneurial vision. Today, the brand spans India and international markets, driven by a singular philosophy: they believe in ‘The Best or Nothing.’

Highlights from an exclusive interview with Entrepreneurs Today.

Interviewer: What inspired you to start your business, and how did you get started?

Adv. Manasi: “Majagaa was born from a refusal to wait for age, validation, or permission. We believed the right moment is not found; it is created.”

The Gada sisters entered the business world at just 16 and 19, armed with research, instinct, and courage rather than comfort. Against prevailing advice, they established their own manufacturing unit and imported raw materials from China, embracing risk at a stage when most would hesitate. Confidence wavered, but conviction never did. Majagaa was built not out of convenience, but out of bold intent.

A Competitive Edge

Today, Majagaa stands at the intersection of medicine and modern luxury. With Dr. Jayniee Gada’s medical expertise at its core, the brand introduced patented skincare inventions, innovations that are rooted in clinical understanding rather than trends.

Interviewer:  How does Majagaa stand apart in the market, and what sets it apart from competitors?

Dr. Jayniee: “Each formulation is personally developed by the founders through extensive R&D and an uncompromising pursuit of quality. This combination of medical precision and creative innovation allows Majagaa to deliver products that are elegant, effective, and scientifically sound. In a crowded beauty market, the brand differentiates itself through depth, ownership, and integrity.”

Interviewer: What obstacles did you encounter while building Majagaa, and how did you navigate them?

Adv. Manasi: The greatest challenge was not capital or logistics — it was credibility. Being young women in a high-stakes industry meant we were constantly underestimated. Our ideas were questioned, our seriousness doubted, and our resolve tested.

Negotiating with industry veterans often involved navigating ego clashes, where even simple processes were made difficult. Instead of resistance, the founders chose results as their response. As our performance spoke, the scepticism faded. Balancing demanding careers in medicine and law alongside a fast-growing business was another challenge, met with discipline, clarity, and long-term focus.”

The Journey

Success, for the founders, is defined by sustained impact and trust.

Interviewer: How do you define success for Majagaa, and what milestones best reflect that success so far?

Dr. Jayniee: Majagaa’s complete sell-out within days of launch, rapid international expansion, placement in global retail chains such as 7-Eleven in Malaysia, and strong demand in Egypt, Turkey and Singapore were our key milestones.”

Reflecting on the milestones, they assert that recognition as the World’s Youngest Entrepreneurs by Midday (2019) was affirming, but for them, the true measure of success lies in consumer confidence and consistent brand performance

Interviewer: What is your long-term vision for Majagaa, and how do you see the brand evolving globally?

Adv. Manasi: “Majagaa’s future is firmly science-led and global. We are expanding into advanced med-tech, dermo-cosmetics, and technology-driven skincare, while strengthening R&D and international partnerships. We envision our growth to be intentional, focused on innovation, performance, and long-term value rather than rapid expansion alone.”

Words of Wisdom

A lesson that both founders stand by is that only dead fish go with the flow. Growth demands resistance, and risk is essential.

Interviewer: As you sign off, what advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs who want to build something meaningful?

Adv. Manasi & Dr. Jayniee: For aspiring entrepreneurs, the message would be to take risks early, be bold before fear sets in, and do not let age, society, or opinion define your limits. Beyond them lies the 1% club, reserved for those who choose courage, discipline, and relentless effort. One should remember that Ordinary paths are crowded. Legacy is built elsewhere.
