Srigandh Shet Is Transforming KGP Group Into a Multi-Sector Powerhouse

“Create something meaningful rather than something trendy. When a brand stands for values and trust, success becomes a natural outcome.”

Srigandh Ganesh Shet operates across four core sectors that span gold retail, hospitality, textiles, and infrastructure.

In the gold segment, he leads KGP Jewellers, which has expanded to more than 30 showrooms across Karnataka.

His hospitality ventures include Royal Ritz Resort and Royal Ritis Hotel, along with additional properties in Belgaum and Shivamogga. In Bengaluru, he is associated as a partner with Bastian Garden City, Sourberry Entertainment, and Toy Room in JW Marriott.

Beyond hospitality, he manages more than seven textile showrooms and operates the KKK RMC Plant in the infrastructure segment.

The Inspiration

Srigandh gives credit to his father’s discipline, values and work ethic as the spark for his entrepreneurial drive. He stepped into the family business at 17, learning hands-on while continuing his education, and that practical schooling shaped his approach to growth and operations.

“What started as learning and supporting the family business gradually evolved into independently managing and expanding operations. With a strong focus on growth, innovation, and quality, we have successfully scaled the business into hospitality, retail, and luxury sectors and built a respected name across Karnataka.”

The uniqueness of KGP Group comes from a combination of hands-on, family-driven operational discipline and deliberate sectoral diversity. In the gold jewellery sector, each showroom pairs traditional values with modern retail practices to deliver a consistent experience across Karnataka. The trust-first approach built over generations, combined with fairness in pricing and rigorous quality controls, creates strong emotional bonds with customers and keeps the group distinct in jewellery, hospitality and retail.

In hospitality, Srigandh Ganesh Shet and KGP Group prioritise how guests feel rather than just rooms or occupancy, delivering experience-driven luxury through careful ambience, service discipline, curated events, and a local cultural sensibility. The group pairs strong operational teams with hands-on leadership to ensure consistent service across properties, and it favours long-term relationships and quality over short-term volume. As Srigandh puts it,

“Whether it’s gold or hospitality, we sell trust before anything else.”

Rocky Road

Srigandh had to navigate several practical challenges while scaling KGP Group across jewellery, hospitality, textiles and infrastructure. Entering a traditional industry at a young age meant customers and partners often equated trust with age. He addressed this by staying personally involved in operations, understanding sourcing, purity standards, pricing, and customer engagement at ground level, and building credibility through consistent delivery.

The business also had to navigate gold price volatility, tight margins, inventory risk, and the operational complexity of scaling multiple showrooms under KGP Jewellers.

Additionally, he had to recruit and train staff to maintain consistent service standards across multiple properties and showrooms while absorbing high fixed costs for real estate, operations and inventory that squeeze cash flow.

The Milestones

“Success is measured by consistency, growth, and impact, not just numbers. Showing up every day, maintaining standards, and continuously improving defines success for him.”

Some of Srigandh’s achievements include opening 30+ gold jewellery showrooms, launching 5 luxury hotels, expanding KGP Group’s footprint across multiple cities in Karnataka and building strong brands in both gold retail and hospitality sectors at a young age.

Some of the future plans for Srigandh include expanding to 100+ gold jewellery showrooms across India, making KGP Group a nationally respected brand, creating a landmark legacy in the hospitality industry and focusing on innovation, scale, and impact rather than imitation. The vision is to build an institution that inspires future entrepreneurs.

Words of Wisdom

Throughout his journey, Srigandh has learned that building a brand rooted in tradition demands patience, consistency, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity. He found that sticking to core values builds long-term trust far more reliably than chasing short-term trends.

He believes that quality and integrity are non-negotiable, and every setback is an opportunity to tighten processes, strengthen sourcing, and improve the customer experience.

Sustainable growth, he says, rests on reliable partners, ethical practices, and a clear brand vision, with innovation used to complement tradition rather than replace it. What he empasises on is to build with purpose, not haste.

As he signs off, he leaves a note for budding entrepreneurs. He asserts,

“Success doesn’t come overnight. Focus on understanding your product deeply, respect your customers, and remain consistent even when growth feels slow. Challenges are part of the journey, but persistence and authenticity create brands that last.”
