How TerraTern is Redefining Global Mobility for Indian Aspirants

Divyansh Chaudhari in Conversation With Entrepreneurs Today

“It’s important to stay focused on your vision and be willing to pivot when necessary.”

Entrepreneurs Today reached out to Divyansh Chaudhari, a serial entrepreneur focused on revolutionising global mobility for Indians. As the founder of TerraTern, he is creating an all-in-one platform for those pursuing international opportunities in work, study, business, or permanent residency.

With seven years of experience across the Study Abroad, Career Counseling, and Edtech sectors, he previously served as Vice President at CollegeDekho, driving B2C initiatives like IELTSMaterial and CollegeDekhoAbroad.

Divyansh’s mission is to simplify immigration and empower India’s skilled professionals to access global opportunities, positioning India as a key player in the international talent market.

Finding Inspiration

Divyansh was inspired to create TerraTern after observing a shift in global opportunities for Indian aspirants beyond traditional destinations like Canada and the US.

Interviewer: What is the gap that you recognised?

Divyansh: “I noticed the immigration and study abroad market is unorganised and fragmented.  A significant number of individuals invest substantial time and financial resources into their aspirations every year. Unfortunately, most of them encounter dissatisfaction along the way, largely due to a lack of personalisation in services, trust in the available guidance, and insufficient clarity regarding their journey.”

With countries like Australia, New Zealand, and Europe emerging as new hotspots, he saw a clear gap in the market for streamlined, personalised guidance in global mobility. This inspired the vision for TerraTern, designed to be a one-stop solution for Indians seeking opportunities abroad, offering tailored services and tech-driven support to navigate the complex processes of immigration, work, and education.

An Edge Over Others

What sets TerraTern apart is its holistic approach to global mobility. More than a visa consulting platform, TerraTern serves as a comprehensive support system, making global aspirations achievable through a combination of expert guidance and technology. Divyansh asserts,

“Whether you need real-time Visa Application tracking to stay updated on the progress of your application or require expert representation from IRCC and MARA-certified immigration lawyers to navigate any complexities in the immigration process, our comprehensive platform is here to assist you every step of the way.“

TerraTern’s offerings also include an extensive job board featuring over 10,000 opportunities abroad, along with post-landing service consultations, delivering a complete end-to-end solution under one roof.

Navigating Challenges

TerraTern faced several challenges in its early stages. One major hurdle was countering the influence of misleading promises made by smaller, less reliable players in the industry, despite providing accurate information.

Establishing a knowledgeable team in Bangalore—an emerging market compared to Delhi and Hyderabad’s established immigration hubs—was another key challenge.

They also had to “unlearn” outdated industry practices and adopt more effective, client-focused strategies for their new team. Breaking the monopoly of offline services, TerraTern transitioned to online delivery of immigration resources, improving accessibility.

To build trust, they offered more features. Divyansh reveals,

“We began offering free profile evaluations as a way to build trust and rapport among aspiring immigrants, helping them assess their chances and guiding them through the complexities of the immigration process. This holistic approach not only empowered our clients but also established our credibility in a competitive market.”

Celebrating Feats

TerraTern has achieved notable milestones, including being featured in the Deccan Herald as the fastest-growing global immigration consultation platform.

They host daily webinars for doubt resolution, attracting over 100 attendees per session. TerraTern boasts a Net Promoter Score of 80 and a Customer Satisfaction Score of 70, with impressive Google and Trustpilot ratings of 4.8 and above.

With a visa success rate of over 95%, 74% of their candidates have received interview calls from international recruiters, further demonstrating their impact in the global mobility space.

Plans Ahead

TerraTern’s future plans involve expanding its services to more countries and regions, enhancing technology, and introducing new categories, such as blue-collar job opportunities and residence and citizenship by investment programs.

Interviewer: How is the company going to execute its future plans?

Divyansh: “We are committed to achieving our goals by investing in research and development to stay current with global immigration policies. Our plan includes expanding our team of experts and lawyers to offer specialised support for various immigration processes, aiming to become the leading platform for all global mobility needs related to study, work, or travel.”

TerraTern also plans to collaborate with businesses for a broader service range, including language training, settlement support, and job placement. Their ultimate goal, as Divyansh notes, is to,

“Make the process of immigration easier and more accessible for individuals and businesses alike, promoting global mobility and diversity. We strive to continuously improve and innovate to provide the best possible service for our clients, helping them achieve their dreams of a better future.”

Major Takeaways

Before signing off, Divyansh gleans over everything he has learned as an entrepreneur. According to him, perseverance and adaptability are essential when it comes to overcoming challenges as a business owner.

Moreover, he emphasised the importance of staying focused on his vision while being open to pivoting when necessary. Building a strong, motivated team and fostering a positive company culture played a key role in TerraTern’s success.

Lastly, he also realised that in India, client satisfaction and success rates are often overlooked, especially in the immigration space. By prioritising quality service, he found that business growth follows naturally, underscoring the importance of delivering value to clients.
