Digital Marketing Maverick Nikhil Yadav Challenges Conventional Marketing

“Working with some of the top brands has taught me that execution quality, technical know-how, and team management are just as crucial as strategy. And the biggest competitive edge? A growth mindset — not just growing brands but growing yourself to anticipate, adapt, and lead through change.”

Entrepreneurs Today reached out to Nikhil Yadav to learn more about his work in the digital marketing space. As the Business Manager of Growth Marketing at Puretech Digital, one of the top full-service digital marketing agencies in India, he is currently leading leading growth marketing team for international business verticals, and Nikhil and his team have scaled international account growth by 6 fold over the past three years.

Nikhil’s Background

Regarding Nikhil’s educational background, he holds a B.E. in Instrumentation Engineering from Mumbai University and a Postgraduate Certification in Digital Marketing & Growth from IIM Visakhapatnam.

Owing to his four years of experience in performance marketing and paid media, he has had the privilege of working with well-known brands in BFSI, E-commerce, Healthcare, FMCG, Fashion and Apparel and the Food & Beverage industry.

Nikhil’s inspiration to dabble in the digital marketing space came from his fascination with how technology shapes the world. He adds,

“As industries evolve rapidly, marketing is one of the few spaces adapting at breakneck speed, driven by AI, AR/VR, 5G, and other breakthrough innovations. I saw digital marketing as the perfect intersection of technology, creativity, and data — a space where I could not only grow but also help brands pivot to this new era of marketing.”

Since digital marketing still feels relatively untapped, it drew Nikhil even closer to the space due to its potential and what more he could contribute to transform it into a more tech-driven and insight-led ecosystem.

A Competitive Edge

An aspect that sets Nikhil apart from others in the market is his thirst for knowledge and his drive to apply whatever he has learned in practical work. He says,

“I strongly believe in the value of execution — the gap between knowing and doing is where true differentiation lies. I’m driven by the idea that hard work has no substitute. While smart work matters, foundational diligence, discipline, and consistency are what make the difference in the long run.”

The Journey

Nikhil’s journey has been quite unconventional due to the drop year in engineering and rather daunting since he was entering the field with no prior experience. However, the journey has also been quite rewarding, eventually becoming a TEDx speaker and influencing more dreamers to take the path to entrepreneurship.

What helped him change his mindset? Nikhil shares,

“I learned that knowing your strengths and weaknesses is key. I focused on building my skillset, staying hungry for growth, and leaning on my support system — my family and friends — during tough times. From helping launch brands and scale them 10x to handling multi-crore budgets today, my approach has always been: learn fast, execute faster.”

In terms of everything he has achieved so far, he owes it all to the support of his family and the hard work of his team. He also believes the yardstick to gauge success is by measuring impact and consistent growth professionally or personally. One of his major wins is that he led campaigns recognised through 6 case studies published by platform partners such as VI, Glance, and MCanvas. He further adds,

“In addition to professional achievements, I was honored to deliver a TEDx Talk at TEDx Amboli in Belagavi, Karnataka, titled ‘Miles to Go Before I Sleep,’ reflecting my journey and mindset.”

What Lies Ahead?

Moving forward, Nikhil’s goal is to become better than the version he was yesterday. He envisions getting more skilled, more aware, and more capable of creating impact within the next few years by deepening his expertise in growth marketing, emerging tools and frameworks, and leading larger-scale campaigns globally.

With the hope of staying ahead of the curve as a thought leader in performance marketing, he reveals,

“In 2025 alone, we’re projected to manage an advertising budget of over INR 130 Cr. across our portfolio.”

The Takeaways

One of the significant lessons he has learned over the years is that while working smart is essential, one cannot skip hard work. Today, everyone is either looking for shortcuts or viral hacks; however, that is not going to cut it if you want to build a solid foundation. He emphasises that the process of learning, understanding the platforms and mastering the basics is what lays the foundation.

Lastly, as he signs off, he says,

“Be curious, be consistent, and don’t fear discomfort. That’s where the growth happens.”
